Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and SOPHEAI, [address] ("SOPHE AI", "we", "us"), for using the SOPHE AI website and apps (the "Service"). By creating an account, or by signing in with Apple, Google or Microsoft, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What SOPHE AI does
SOPHE AI helps you judge whether something you received online, such as a message, link, email or screenshot, might be a scam. You submit it, and our AI gives you a verdict (likely safe, unclear, suspicious or likely scam), the reasons for it, and suggested next steps.
2. Important: our verdicts are guidance, not a guarantee
Our verdicts are produced automatically by artificial intelligence. They can be wrong: a message we rate "likely safe" can still be a scam, and a genuine message can be flagged. Scams change constantly, and we only see what you show us.
- Use SOPHE AI as a second opinion, not as the only basis for a decision.
- Before sending money, sharing codes or passwords, or giving someone access to a device, check directly with the person or organisation through a contact you already trust.
- If you think you have been scammed, contact your bank and the police straight away. SOPHE AI is not an emergency service.
- SOPHE AI does not give legal, financial or professional advice.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at contact@sopheai.com if you think someone else is using it.
- If you sign in with Apple, Google or Microsoft, that provider's terms also apply to your account with them.
- You can delete your account at any time from your Account page.
4. Plans, family and payment
- Plans. We offer a free plan and paid plans. What each plan includes (for example the number of checks per month and the number of people it covers) is shown when you choose it. Some plans are available only by invitation.
- Family. A paid plan belongs to the person who pays for it, the owner, and may cover other people they invite. Only the owner can change, cancel or pay for the plan. If the owner cancels, changes to a smaller plan or deletes their account, the people covered move to their own free plan.
- Prices. Prices are shown in EUR and include VAT where applicable. The price you agree to when you subscribe stays the same for that subscription, including its renewals. A price change would only apply to new subscriptions.
- Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel. We charge the payment method you used.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your subscription page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then does not renew.
- Refunds. Payments already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it or we say otherwise.
- Vouchers and invitations. Discount codes and Founder invitations are personal, have the conditions shown with them, and have no cash value.
Your right to withdraw (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days after subscribing to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason. By starting a paid plan straight away, you ask us to begin the service during those 14 days. If you then withdraw, we refund what you paid, minus a proportionate amount for the time you already used. To withdraw, email contact@sopheai.com.
5. Fair use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, or to help anyone commit fraud or scams;
- submit content you have no right to share, or more personal data about other people than you need for a check;
- try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the limits of the Service;
- use automated tools to submit checks, or resell the Service, without our written agreement;
- share your account, or an invitation meant for someone else.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where possible, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.
6. Your content
What you submit stays yours. You give us permission to process it only to provide the Service to you: to analyse it (including through the AI services we use), show you the result and keep it in your history. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Our service
The SOPHE AI name, logo, software, texts and designs belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not give you any other rights in it.
We work to keep SOPHE AI available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features over time. If we make a change that significantly reduces what your paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, because our verdicts are automated guidance (section 2), we are not liable for losses caused by relying on a verdict instead of verifying independently, such as money sent to a scammer. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using SOPHE AI and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms by giving you 30 days' notice, or immediately if you seriously break them. If we end them without cause, we refund any unused part of a paid period.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance by email or in the app. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect; continuing to use SOPHE AI afterwards means you accept it.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If you have a complaint, please contact us first; we will try to resolve it.
